Science Talent Farming Scheme 4th batch scholarship 2018

Pakistan Science Foundation, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Science & Technology is in the process of selection of 4th batch of 300 young students under the Science Talent Farming Scheme (STFS). The talented students passionate towards Science education who wish to adopt science as career will be selected and trained/groomed to become future eminent scientists. The selected students will be required to seek admission in reputed public sector colleges approved under this Scheme.

Scholarships are very important for all students, especially for the outstanding ones. Governments of almost all countries offer financial support to their intelligent students of various levels. Primary criteria for award of any scholarship or financial assistance is performance of a students in examination or test customized for the purpose.

In Pakistan, Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education and universities provide scholarship to toppers and high achievers. Higher education Commission also runs a number of scholarship programs/projects for support and sponsorship of students’ postgraduate and higher studies.

But at F.Sc. level, there was no remarkable program, before initiation of Science Talent Farming Scheme (STFS) by Govt of Pakistan under Vision 2025. The STFS scholarship is being run by Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST).

Under STFS, scholarship amounting to Rs.10,000/- per month is provided to each student for two years of their F.Sc. studies. In addition, laptops and visits to top universities and science organizations.

Applications from students, studying in 10th class are invited through vide advertisement in major newspapers/national press. In addition to score in SSC examinations, some special tests are also taken for the purpose of award of STFS scholarship.

Merit for all the programmes (except English & Applied Linguistics) will be determined on the basis of (60%) weightage of B.A/B.Sc Marks + (40%) weightage of Test Marks. The program will guide and groom the selected graduates from a variety of backgrounds by empowering them to work as freelancer through internet and to contribute to the national economy. Since the concept and awareness of earning through the internet and taking freelancing as a serious profession is getting popular in the smaller cities of Punjab after the completion of earlier two phases of the project, which has enabled enable the youth to generate income approximately from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 80,000 per month while working from home.

  • his both parents are illiterate, the parents do not own any immovable property and either of them is disabled;
  • he has been a school dropout and his both parents are illiterate and the parents do not own any immovable property;
  • his both parents are illiterate, the parents do not own any immovable property and do not have any fixed job or source of income;
  • he is not resident of a town, tehsil or district headquarters and any of his parent is a semi-skilled or unskilled menial village worker, and the parents do not own any immovable property and are illiterate; and
  • he is resident of a town, tehsil or district headquarters and his household resides in a katcha house.

The Daanish School may admit a student whose parent is an employee of the School.

  • Be a student of Grade-V
  • Passed exams of Class V either PEC or any other

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:-

1. Fee Refund Policy: 100% fee refund if claimed (only in writing) within 1st week, 50% within 2nd week, no refund after fifteen (15) days of commencement of semester. However, the students on provisional admission (For result awaited only) failing to obtain the required percentage as per eligibility criteria advertised will be refunded 100% of fee if they claim for refund (only in writing) within 7 days of declaration/announcement of the result by the concerned board/university.

2. Provisional (Result awaiting) Admission. The students admitted on provisional basis are required to provide result card within 7 days of commencement of the classes. No provisional admissions will be entertained at Main Campus (Islamabad) in MA English, BS English, BSCS, BSSE, BBA, BS Mass Communication, BS IR, BS Psychology and MS/MPhil/PhD programs.

3. Cancellation of Admission: Admission will be cancelled without any refund (Except security fee) at any stage if a candidate/student is found ineligible as per advertisement OR any degree / certificate proves to be fake / unrecognized.

4. ETC: The applicants for undergraduate programs, who have already qualified / cleared relevant category of ETC (Educational Testing Council, HEC) will be exempted from NUML entrance test. However, they will have to appear in interview as per schedule.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FORM FILLING:-

1. Online Admission: please visit NUML admission website: onlineadmission.numl.edu.pk and apply online. Scanned copies of photograph and processing fee (Rs. 1000) are required at the time of online form filling. While scanned copies of other educational documents (roll number slip if result awaiting student), CNIC/Form-B, domicile and ETC result card are to be provided after selection in a program before payment of the program / course fee.

2. Offline Admission: Hard copy of filled admission form (available on NUML Website) with attested copies of educational documents and processing fee slip (Rs. 1500 in original) should reach respective campus/branch till November 23, 2018.

3. NUML Facilitation Centre: For assistance in terms of form filling NUML facilitation centre will remain available till 1200 hrs on December 2, 2018 at Gazali Block lab, NUML main campus, Islamabad. Rs.1500/ will be charged as processing fee.

4. NUML GAT Fee: Applicant for MS/MPhil/PhD programs availing NUML devised GAT will also have to deposit Rs.1200 as GAT fee.

5. Incomplete applications/ received after due date will not be accepted / entertained.

1. Career counselling: Available in the department of ORIC, NUML.

2. Special Quota: 5% seats in each program have been reserved for war wounded personnel of Armed/Civil Forces and 10% seats for FATA / Balochistan subject to the following conditions. i. All NUML rules are applicable. ii. Minimum eligibility criteria is admissible. iii. Test/interview as per NUML Schedule iv. No Fee Concession.

3. Scholarship for Position Holders: Position holders of Board / University are awarded scholarships subject to the conditions mentioned on NUML website.

4. Needs Based Scholarship: Need based scholarship is offered to the selected/deserving students that includes tuition fee and monthly stipend.

5. Hostel Facility: Limited hostel accommodation is available at Main Campus Islamabad. Students can collect hostel application form from the office of Director Students Affairs after submission of semester / course fee.
